Before you come to your regular appointment, you should look over your medications, diabetes supplies, inhalers, etc. to determine if you need to request any new prescriptions at your appointment.

-We do require office visits on a regular basis for all of our patients taking prescription medication. The interval will vary depending on the type of medication prescribed. Please be sure you have enough medication to last until your next scheduled visit.

-ALL prescriptions require a follow up appointment every 3-6 months.

PLEASE NOTE: Controlled substances will never be called in after hours or without an office visit.

-It is important to keep your scheduled appointment to ensure that you receive timely refills.

-It is very important to request your prescriptions during your office visit. We will charge a fee of $25 for prescription refills outside of an office visit and will only supply 30 days of your medication.

-Our new policy will be to call in appropriate requests for prescription refills within 3 business days. Please let our staff know if your request is urgent or if you are out of medication, in which case we will try to provide refills sooner.  We certainly strive to complete refill requests as soon as possible.

-Check with your pharmacy 3 business days/72 hours after your request to see if the prescription has been processed before calling our office back. Repeated requests and communications increase processing time.

-It is your responsibility to schedule an appointment before you run out of medication. You should schedule your next visit before you leave our office.

-Medication refills will only be addressed during regular office hours (Monday-Friday 9am-4pm). Please notify your provider on the next business day if you find yourself out of medication after hours.

-No prescriptions will be refilled on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays.

-Requests for refills that are received after 12 P.M. on Friday will not be called in until Monday at the earliest.

-New symptoms or events require an office visit. Your provider will not diagnose or treat over the phone.

-For your convenience we do offer virtual visits for minor problems and occasional medication refills. This is not in place of your regularly scheduled follow up visit and only 30 days of your medication will be refilled. Controlled medications will not be refilled during a virtual visit.
